Rutland Water Family Hiking Event

Join Hubb Leicestershire for an enriching day of outdoor exploration and spiritual growth at Rutland Water on Saturday July 27th. Departing from Sykes Lane Car Park (Rutland Waters), immerse yourself in the breathtaking scenery and serene trails while partaking in a variety of activities aimed at fostering unity, spiritual reflection, and community engagement.

Event Highlights:

Family-Friendly Hike: Embark on a scenic 1.2-mile hike through to Whitwell, featuring captivating storytelling sessions for children and adults alike. Please see image below for the day itinerary. 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️
Spiritual Talks by Shaykh Muhammad Zaqir: Engage in enlightening discussions led by Shaykh Muhammad Zaqir, Director and Founder of Dar ul Arqam educational trust. Shaykh Zaqir, a renowned scholar, brings years of extensive study in Damascus and Tarim (Yemen), specializing in Islamic theology. 🕌📿
Group Dhikr Session: Join Shaykh Muhammad Zaqir in a spiritually uplifting session of group dhikr, where we collectively remember and praise Allah. Experience the tranquility and serenity that comes with collective worship and spiritual reflection. 🕋🙏
Prophetic Storytelling: Get ready to be swept away to the times of the Prophets. Actor-poet Junayd of Islam follows Qur’anic passages verse by verse to create a gripping narration filled with pathos and humour. A fresh look at the Prophetic tales to be enjoyed by adults and children alike. 📖✨
Bring-a-Dish Picnic: Please note that food will not be provided. Instead, we will be hosting a bring-a-dish style lunch picnic. Share your favorite dishes with fellow participants and enjoy a communal meal amidst the beauty of nature. 🥗🍲

Profile of Shaykh Muhammad Zaqir

Hubb Leicestershire has specifically sought out Shaykh Zaqir for his exceptional community work and initiatives. The Dar ul Arqam educational trust, founded by Shaykh Zaqir, is renowned for running numerous community initiatives and a prestigious Ulema school.

After graduating from Manchester University with a BA (Hons) in Politics and Economics, Sheikh Muhammad Zaqir studied for 8 years in Damascus (Syria) at the Prestigious Abu Noor Institute and studied several classical disciplines of Islamic knowledge at the hands of some of the most prominent holders of the tradition. He thereafter studied in the illuminated city of Tarim, Hadramaut. There he studied at the eminent Institute Dar ul Mustafa, under the qualified hands of some of the most illustrious guides of knowledge. Being classically trained in the sacred sciences, he has attained formal ijazahs in various Islamic Disciplines including Tafsir, Hadith, Kalam and many others. His study includes the Shafi’i and Hanbalis schools of Law but his specialization being in the Hanafi School having attained iftaa in the Hanafi Madhab. Despite his extensive knowledge in these areas, his specialism is in the sciences of Islamic Theology. Having founded Darul Arqam Trust and humanitarian aid charity – Revive, Shaykh Zaqir is also the founder of many other grass-root community initiatives.

Actor-poet Junayd is on a journey to spread the light of Islam through captivating one-man performances.

Junayd's original dramatisations of Prophetic stories follow Qur'anic passages verse by verse, brining to life these profound tales in a form accessible to audiences of today.

The perfect way to introduce younger audience to the lives of the Prophets and make adults reflect on the stories they grew up with.
